Gionee’s widely rumored F5 smartphone has been officially announced by the company. The smartphone is priced at RMB 1,799, which is Rs 17,000 approximately, and is available in China. There is no word on the availability of the smartphone outside China right now. The company is bundling some freebies like selfie stick and USB light for customers in China.
The highlight of the Gionee F5 is the big 4,000mAh battery that the company claims to deliver up to nine hours of talk time and up to 28 hours of music playback. Besides the big battery, the smartphone also comes with a fingerprint sensor integrated into the physical home button on the front. The fingerprint sensor can also be used for authenticating payments on WeChat and AliPay. The smartphone comes with a metal unibody design with 2.5D glass on top. It is available in gold and rose color options.

The smartphone comes with a 5.3-inch HD display. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based Amigo UI, and is powered by 64-bit MediaTek MT6750 octa-core processor and includes 4GB of RAM. It comes with 32GB of onboard storage, and supports additional storage up to 128GB via a microSD card.
For photography, the Gionee F5 comes with 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and 8-megapixel front facing camera. Connectivity options include dual-SIM, VoLTE, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
